I bought this cookie jar for my grandson for his birthday, not realizing that he no longer eats cookies.I am so not ready for him to grow up <3

Got this for candy and I love it. Be careful picking it up, it slips easily. Not a full complete seal.

If you’re a Sci-Fi geek and love all things UFO then this is a must have for your collection. The jar is really nice quality. I read some of the other reviews saying it was too small for the price. I find it difficult to find UFO collectibles and when I do they usually are not high quality and seem to be expensive. I thought the price was fair because it’s a fun novelty item that you don’t see in your mainstream stores. I took pictures of my hand fitting inside the jar. I do have small wrists and found it to be no problem reaching inside. If you have large hands then I could see it getting frustrating. I also took measurements of the jars height and circumference. While the jar isn’t enormous, I was able to fit an entire box of Back to Nature cookies in it. I doubt I’ll use it as a cookie jar but I wanted to see how many cookies it would fit. It would be perfect for candy or coffee. Us earthlings need fun stuff to keep us entertained. This jar makes me happy. The only gripe I would have is the glass shows fingerprints easily, but that’s minor compared to the joy this jar brings me.

So I bought this to do a miniature scene in. Absolutely awesome. I’ll be able to cut out the cork top to add glass dome, paint the cook silver and put my house and cow in the jar. Great jar.

I don’t know if a cookie jar can be “out of print,” but this one seems to be. I looked for this container for a long time and was delighted to finally find it. I purchased it because it was funny — who doesn’t love a UFO cookie jar? — but I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy and functional it is. It’s fairly small, but my hand fits inside the opening, and the cork lid fits securely on top. It seems fairly airtight. I’ve only stored wrapped candy inside it so far, but I’m sure it would work well for cookies, too. And it’s a great conversation piece. “Wait, is that a UFO cookie jar??” Yes, friend. Yes, it is. Five stars!

As others have stated, this would be pretty awkward as a cookie jar. It could be done, but you’d definitely need prongs to grab the cookies, because the opening is too small to reach into. You’d be limited to smaller sized cookies, as well. Thanks to the earthling reviews here, I knew what to expect. As you can see, I went ahead and ordered a more practical cookie jar, and ordered this with the intent of putting hard candies in the UFO jar. Something my boyfriend will be able to dump out. I wish it were a bit cheaper, but alien artifacts ARE pricey, so, what can ya do?

Several purchases later and some modifications this fun cookie jar has become a hit in the office I work at. I’m getting small toy donations from fellow coworkers who love it as much as I do. So much fun.
