I love Fortean times and had been a subscriber for about 10 years before giving it up due to the crazy high cost of the yearly subscription (about $130/year). I must admit that I always loved their “It Happened to Me!” section at the back of the magazine and often would flip to the back of the magazine first to read these.I love, love, love that I can now buy these in a book all together, and on the kindle no less!If you are not familiar with what exactly this book is, it is a collection of stories that readers send in to the Fortean Times magazine about strange things that have happened to them. Stuff like ghosts, aliens, strange moments in time and the like. I recommend this book and anything by Fortean times to anyone who loves paranormal information.

I LOVE this kind of “story book.”It’s well-organized, simply written–which is to say directly, in a tale-telling voice, not dumbed-down, and just plain a lot of fun. One tale after another…would be great at a sleep-over or campfire….I got it when it first came out, having been forever a fan of this section of the Fortean Times magazine. I highly recommend it for those who already have a niggling sense that ‘something’ isn’t how we think, and for those who may not be into that kind of stuff but don’t mind a thought-provoking shiver or two. And also for anybody who may himself had had an anomalous experience.

I love these Fortean Times produced books. If they printed a new one each week I’d buy it. I don’t care whether the stories are fact, fiction, or a combination of both, it’s good, old fashioned fun.

A great read for those of a fortean mindset who believe there are times when 2 plus 2 might equal 5.

The letters section and the “It Happened To Me” pages in Fortean Times Magazine have long been my favorite reads. It’s great to have lots of stories collected together and categorized all in one issue of their special magazine. If there is a saturation point reached when reading these stories I haven’t reached it yet and don’t expect to anytime soon. I think these collections are great fun.

Weird and wonderful. Interesting reading and the pieces are short enough and easy to read.

Interesting
To me this book seems to have a more interesting and convincing stable of “true stories” regarding the paranormal and weird than the many books on the subject. The people who submitted their stories (to the Fortean Times magazine) just seemed to be saner and more credible than say, a man in your local giving such an account. Perhaps it’s the non-sensationalism of the accounts, the thoughtful descriptions and maybe sometimes the mundaness of their strange experiences. As I result, I rate this book highly.

Real life creepy stuff – love it!
Could have done with less stories of the ’40 years ago when I was 9 years of age’ sort (never very convincing), and I’d have liked a lot more stories for my buck, but so original and thoroughly entertaining!

Just a great read
This is a great book, I loved it as ‘It Happened To Me’ is my favorite part of Fortean Times so to get so many stories in one hit is really good. For those of you who don’t read Fortean Times the stories are eye witness accounts of strange events. Great book at a great price.

Great read
This if fab. All great stories condensed into one book. As the stories are really short you can dip in and out whenever you want to. I find myself taking it on the school run with me to read whilst waiting for them to come out. Looking forward to getting the others to.
