Hi everyone! So, first post here as I have been doing some thinking after reading some of these and wanted to share one of my own experiences that i’m unsure about. When I was younger, I lived in a cottage in an extremely rural part of Cornwall in the UK until i was 10 (i am 22 now) and had a horrifying encounter. To this day I am puzzling as to whether it was a dream or not.
Basically, I was sleeping in the bottom bunk of a bunk bed (I’m an only child but I liked to change from time to time) and I was trying to get to sleep but I couldn’t. Suddenly, I saw a dark figure poke it’s head over the top bunk and it started staring at me intensely. I froze, and my heart began to race. Seconds later, it threw what looked like a barrel at me and i felt it hit my head and i thrashed in my bed and hit the wall at the end. This is probably the most scared I have been in my life.
I then jumped out of bed and ran to my parents’ room down the corridor and I could hear footsteps on the floorboards behind me chasing me. I could see stars from how hard I had been hit. Like you know when you are about to pass out and your vision goes all blurry and fuzzy? Kind of like that.
For years I have put this down as sleep paralysis or something along those lines but recently I have been having doubts. I had so many other less intense experiences in that house that I have been wondering whether it was haunted.
For example, I remember once my dog being extremely afraid to enter the living room of the house, and my mum (being very spiritual) asked a witch to douse the house. She told her no information, just that she wished for it to be cleansed. The lady stared at my mum and said,
“Your dog is afraid. I can sense it. He is not going into that room, right?”
We were shocked. How did she know this?
She then explained after doing some investigating that there was a ghost of a large black cat who used to reside there and my dog was quite afraid of them, and so it made sense. Sufficed to say after her work was complete my dog entered straight away and was content with being there for the rest of his days.
Many more weird occurrences but my hands are tired ask me anything lol.
