Who locked the bathroom stall door?/u/Gehrbrw

I work in an old hotel/gas station in northern Canada. A large portion of the lower level of the building is an old restaurant and kitchen, the likes of which havent been in operation in 15+ years. We use that area for some storage, and we reserve the restrooms inside the restaurant for staff only.

Today I came into work early and my boss had me clean the restaurant bathrooms. I finished cleaning all the stalls in the womens bathroom, and went to the storage room to get some extra toilet paper. I pushed open the first stall and left a roll of toilet paper on top of the dispenser, fine. Second stall, same deal, fine. I pushed on the third stall door, locked. I apologized out loud thinking one of my coworkers was in there using the toilet, but there was no response. I peeked through the crack and found the stall was empty.

I had just been in that stall, cleaning the toilet, and had only been away for about a minute. There were only 3 of us on shift at that time, me, my coworker at the front desk, and my boss who was sitting in her office. The front desk has a clear view of the only unlocked entrance into the restaurant area, and the lady watching the desk said she hadnt seen anyone going in or coming out. I have no clue how the stall door locked. I'm gonna check the bathroom tonight before I leave (I'm half expecting it to have unlocked itself by then)
