I consider myself a rational person, and although I am intrigued by the paranormal, I struggle to truly believe it. However I recently experienced something that I simply can’t explain.
Let me explain. Both mothers mom aka my grandmother died before I was born. She died at the age of 52, and I was never told a lot about her. My mother had pictures of her but they where all destroyed in a flood several years before I was even born. So I have only heard brief stories of her and never seen a picture.
Now for the incident itself: I was at my mother’s house during last Christmas. It was Christmas Eve and me, my mother and my aunt was watching TV. At some point I decided to head to the kitchen to grab a drink. Between the living room and the kitchen there is a hallway. As i was walking back from the kitchen with the drink, I felt I saw something in the corner of my eye at the end of the dark hallway. I quickly turned my head but there was nothing there. I didn’t think much more of it an just continued to the livingroom. Now this is the strange part: As I sat down and thought about what I saw in the hallway I suddenly saw it very clearly. It was an elderly woman in something that looked like a hospital gown. I did at no point feel it was scary or something malevolent. So I told my mother and aunt about what I saw. And as I explained the woman’s appearance in detail I saw the faces of my mother and aunt turn into shock. They said that I just explained my grandmother down to the last detail. I described the hospital gown, the slippers, the hairstyle and colour, the shape and colour of her glasses, her facial features… everything.
Now this really freaked me out, considering the fact that I have never seen her. What can possibly have happened here? I have no logical explanation.
