A couple of years ago, my cousin, our house helper, and I were the only ones in the house. We all had a flight to catch at 4:00, so we had to wake up at 1:30 to prepare for the travel. I took a shower and got dressed while my cousin packed.
Then, my cousin went upstairs to take her shower and asked me to fetch her clothes that were drying in the backyard. I was too scared to go alone, so I asked the house helper for assistance. She got me the clothes, and I carried them upstairs.
After dropping off the clothes in her room, I went outside and found that upstairs was unusually dark and gloomy. As I made my way downstairs, something pushed me, causing me to hit the opposite wall. I was left with a bump on my head, and my nose hurt, making it hard for me to breathe. I ended up having a minor panic attack. My cousin came out to help me, but when I told her about my suspicions, she laughed and dismissed it as me being sleepy. She also mentioned that I never brought her clothes and told me that I was so sleepy that I didn't even remember to bring them.
However, I was certain that I was fully conscious, and I did bring her clothes. I was not feeling sleepy. Since that day, I've been scared to go near those stairs after midnight. Thank God, the only injury I sustained was a bump on my head!
