I bought my first house a few months ago from my Grandmother. And I've never believed in ghosts until now.. Since I'm doing renovations, I haven't stayed overnight too much but have had a few experiences where I feel like I'm being watched. Most recently was the experience that has me convinced its haunted. I was there watching a movie with my girlfriend when I heard a voice yelling "Ahhh my hand!!!" My girlfriend noticed I heard something, but didn't hear anything herself. I got up to look around since it was the 4th of July and neighbors were maybe setting off fire works. Then I remembered that the only two close houses were elderly people and the next closest house was a half mile away and there's no way I'd hear yelling from there over the movie.
I brushed off this experience for a bit and figured it was in my head. Then I thought back to some of the research I did on the history of the house. I remembered that one of the people who died in the house was a civil war Veteran who had his arm amputated. The stories I read about him said he was always in constant pain. I always felt as though he was haunting the house and this recent experience has me convinced.
I don't feel threatened by the ghost, but it makes me uncomfortable. It seems restless which keeps my looking over my shoulder constantly there. Is there any tips people have to make me feel more comfortable or at peace with the ghost there?
