When people bring up misidentification as a possible explanation for cryptid sightings, argument against this are usually expressed as " everyone knows what a bear looks like". But, if the witness is viewing the animal from an unusual angle or in an unusual situation it could be posable to misinterpret it as something completely different. I have included a photo of a striped skunk doing a handstand and a photo that many people now agree is a bear with its butt in the air. The fist time I saw video of a striped skunk walking in a handstand position, I was not told what I would be seeing. My mind switched quickly from the impression that this was a strange bipedal creature waddling tword the camera to a small person in furry suit to an animal walking on its front legs. If I had only caught a glimpse of this behavior in nature maybe I would still think I saw a strange furry humanoid. submitted by /u/Sevenclans |
