One nightmare lead to another… And another/u/valorian397

I'm not entirely sure if this would count as paranormal or whether it was just an overactive mind of a child. Either way I have typed this out and deleted it a few times, arguing with myself whether this is worth posting.

Anyway, when I was younger I had this weird, but very vivid dream that I can remember 15+ years later perfectly.

It started out in some kind of graveyard or cemetery at night, no stars, but a full moon and also no clouds. There were loads of headstones and statues you'd typically find in a cemetery, but there was also small columns maybe about 3.5 - 4 feet high with orbs emitting a dim green light that lined the cobbled pathways similar to streetlights along a road.

These all seemed to surround and encompass a 1 story wooden house that had been painted blue with white accents. In the dream, I made my way into the house which looked like it had been abandoned and all the furniture cleared out. It had plain wooden floors, wallpaper that was a solid colour until half way up the wall and a kind of two tone floral on the top half.

There were three doors in the hallway, but I took the one on the right into a room which had an old wooden rockingchair and an unlit fireplace. As soon as the door shut behind me there was a flash of lightning and the sound of thunder that when gone revealed the chair was rocking and the fireplace was now lit. Again there was a nother flash if lightening and the sound of thunder, this time revealing an old woman in the rocking chair staring at the fireplace and pointing at the walls which were now covered in a word repeatedly and consisting of a red, oozing kind of liquid that ran down the wall from each letter. For some reason I did not understand the word and it didn't even seem written in any language I could identify.

After this, I woke up in a cold sweat with the imposing feeling of something nearby watching me. I eventually managed to get back to sleep only to have another nightmare, except when I awoke from this, something sat on the end of my bed. To explain how I knew this couldn't be a pet or a family member, I could hear everybody snoring, and my bed was the kind where it is raised like a bunk bed, but has a desk underneath.

I kicked to the side of me and there was nothing there, so thoroughly creeped out, I hid under the duvet and again managed to eventually fall asleep, only to then experience another nightmare where some unseen force had be tied to some kind of bed and was threatening me with torture and other unpleasant things. This one is especially memorable as I was lucid enough to try and wake up, but couldn't and was taunted for not being able to do so for a while by this unseen force. Eventually I managed to wake up, but with some kind of sleep paralysis where my body was shaking from fear, but unable to move otherwise as I felt something crawl up my bed until I could hear it's breathing in my ear.

After what felt like forever, this seemed to fade as did the feeling of the thing being there, mostly. The nightmares continued until I gave up sleeping that night entirely, but still feeling as if something was watching until in spite of my eyes being closed, I could make out the light from the sun rising.

Again, I am unsure if this is paranormal or just me having an overactive imagination as a kid, but the taunting felt oddly specific and at the time included words I hadn't even heard of yet. If I knew what the first dream would entail, I'd have tried to stay up the rest of the night and now I just hope it isn't a recurring nightmare, even after about 15+ years.
