A shadow entity followed us/u/Vivid_Criticism5749

So, I was in my hometown for a few days last month and I went to visit my best friend, who I’ll call Tee. Our catch-ups are always long, as don’t get to see each other all that often; we live in different parts of New South Wales, Australia.

Both of us are interested in the paranormal, and we’ve had our fair share of experiences over the years, and talked about them with each other. We’d never had a paranormal encounter together, until this night.

It was around 9pm, and my friend was about to drop me home. We strapped in, and drove towards the highway, chatting away, continuing our conversation from when we were inside.

Out of nowhere, the air inside the car began to slowly change. It grew heavy, like energy was building; there were tingles rippling down my neck and in between my shoulder blades. Something wasn’t right. I tried to ignore it, but the feeling kept growing, and the source of it seemed to be in the back seat.

I turned my head just a fraction, and in my peripheral vision, I saw it - a dark, dark shadow of a man sitting passenger behind the driver’s side. I don’t know how to explain it, but it seemed damned pleased it was disrupting our night.

“Tee..it’s in the car with us,” I blurted.

“I know,” she said quietly. “Do you want to keep driving?”

“Yes please.” I did not want this thing following me home.

“We’ll go to the Mount.”

“Alright”

We tried to keep talking as much as possible, and as normal as possible, but it was hard. We could feel this entity trying to latch on.

We made it to the top of the Mount and walked to the lookout on the far side, as there were already other people around.

“It’s still here,” Tee said, as we walked. “It likes the dark.”

“Yeah, I can feel it.” My neck and shoulders were still prickling and I sensed - we sensed - it was following.

We walked down through the gate and stood looking at the lights of town below.

I’d forgotten the view from up there, and I said as much to Tee.

Then Tee said, “I brought us up here because it’s a sacred area.”

“Right,” I nodded, understanding straight away

We kept talking quietly, trying to ignore the presence behind us.

Slowly, but surely, it..faded away. After a long moment of silence, Tee said “I think it’s gone.”

The uncomfortable prickling I’d felt had stopped, and I thought I could still sense a bit of something, but it might’ve just been adrenaline from such an unnerving experience.

We waited a few more long minutes before walking back to the car and Tee finally dropped me home. I didn’t say anything to my mum who was still awake when I got in the door, just said goodnight and went to bed.

Even though I was sure the thing hadn’t followed me, I didn’t sleep until the early hours of the morning.

If anyone has any similar experiences of a shadow person or entity, I’d like to hear it. Have you ever had one follow you? Let me know in the comments.
