My partner and I, our son and our little dog moved to a new rental house last week.
The house was built in the 1950s.
As soon as we moved in we started smelling a very dense nasty smell of mold and wood, something we didn’t notice upon the previous inspection.
All good we said, it will go away with time.
The day after, I went outside to go in the backyard and the door locked it self behind me, leaving me out in the veranda without access to the house. Had to call a locksmith.
Bad luck I guess,
nope.
The day after I was watching TV and my girlfriend went in the backyard to let the dog poo, she got locked out from a different door, the door closed, and locked it self.
We have these two episodes recordes on my CCTV cameras and it shows both doors being closed and THEN the lock turns left, LOCKING the Door. You can clearly see the lock turning left, locking the door.
The wind couldn’t have done it.
The day after, we woke up, I went to the bathroom, but the door is locked.
The door can only be locked from the inside, and if you are inside the bathroom and lock yourself in it, you cannot open the door from the inside if you have locked it.
You must unlock it in order to exit the bathroom, and it can only be locked from the inside.
Well, there was no one inside. We had to call another locksmith to open it.
4th day: I wake up, I see my dog staring at the bedroom door, he wanted to get out the room clearly… The door was locked by me the night before, Yes, I locked my self in the bedroom which can only be unlocked from the inside.
I literally saw the door opening it self in slow motion until my dog was able to leave the bedroom. No handle turns, just the door getting wide open without any sound. The door was locked by me the night before. I was alone in the house that night.
Coincidence?
I don’t believe in paranormal activities but I cannot explain any of these episodes. We are now sleeping in a hotel and monitoring the house through our internal and external CCTVs.
Please let us know if you have any suggestions. We cannot move out since we paid 3x months rent in advance and that is over $10,000.
