Hey there, this will be my first ever post on here so buckle up for this one! Tell me what you think of this? Backstory….So I live in an apartment building that was once a senior citizen home. Most of my siblings stay here as well, & on top of that I also clean the units here with my cleaning business. Therefore I’ve been in almost every single unit at some point of time here. I had my own apartment as well by myself until I decided to move back with mom(who also stays in complex)before the pandemic started.
In my apartment, my bed was right below my window in the room. I would be laying there in bed and I would hear this strange light tapping noise at my window. At first it never ever bothered me, I assumed it was a tree branch or bug or something touching my window until I realized there were no trees or plants outside my window. And the tapping was year round so I knew no bugs would be knocking against my window in the middle of winter, it was unlikely it gets extremely cold here the bugs usually die off. I could never ever figure out what the tapping noise was so I started to pay attention more. The tapping almost always happened at night, it has never been consistent. The tapping was random. I notice that the tapping is only heard when I try to listen. It almost sounds like someone is lightly flicking their fingernails on the window. The tapping has never really scared me, more so makes me curious. I’ve went & looked outside of my window and observed everything around, yet I could never figure out what could cause that sound. So a year or two goes by & I’m still hearing that tapping noise at my window, I just started to ignore it but I was still aware. Eventually I move out & move with my mother next door…everything was going smooth the first couple of days until I noticed one night I was laying in my bed and I hear the same tapping noise above my head. Again this sound is never threatening just noticeable so now I’m beginning to freak out a little. I mean what are the odds that that window tapping sound moved with me to my mothers apt? I ask my mom & siblings to come in my room to listen when I was hearing it & they literally heard nothing. To make things even more creepy is that just yesterday I was alone in a unit cleaning in the kitchen, I had to grab something out my bag in the bedroom and as I am searching through my bag I start to hear that tapping noise at the window in the bedroom. Wasn’t threatening just light tapping. ….. I had to wrap my clean up early it made me feel a little uneasy, I honestly had this chilling thought in my head that someone or something wants to come in from the window. I darted to my car when I was finished and just set there in silence for a moment. All of a sudden I hear that tapping on the window next to me. I’m freaking out! Am I going crazy? Could this tapping noise just be an issue with the make of the windows? And if that is the case how did I hear the tapping on my car window? There are no trees or plants anywhere outside these windows. There’s barely any debris, and if that was the issue then why hasn’t anyone else heard this tapping noise? I’ve even asked the leasing office & no one has heard the tapping.I’m not religious nor a window specialist so I have no idea what this could be. What do you think?
