I need some info, opinions or whatever else you guys can give cause this is my last option I can think of. I Live in a house with my partner out in the countryside and every single night we hear thuds and vibrations in the walls and floors. I'm from the EU and this house has cement filled walls so I've already ruled out mice ect. Every room has hardwood floors btw. My partner woke me up at 4 am the other night to a sound of knocking. A very slow knock that sounds like it's coming from down stairs under our bedroom. I went and checked everywhere even outside and around the house for her. I checked in each bedroom just in case there weren't any intruders. After I checked it went away. Last night there was a loud thud as if someone slammed a door really hard downstairs. It was so loud it made our bedroom door creak and kind of pop. ( Like the sound of the house just settling) I was awake for this but my partner wasn't but it woke her up. Now tonight, my partner is sleeping beside me as I speak. I hear little steps but very separated apart, I'd say 3 seconds apart. I turn on my fan to drown out the noise and I still hear it. Mind you, when I go downstairs and look around. it goes away. (Fyi) I have no central heating and air in my house or anything that could really make noises. It's a 5 bedroom 2 bathroom house built in the 1840s. We're just two people no kids or animals. I don't really believe (or not) in ghosts cause I never experienced anything. Please help. The house is remodeled btw.
