Shinto is real. It's simply nature. EVERYTHING has a spirit.
Your spirit/karma/Kami rubs off on everything you touch.
The dull, untrained spirit in a rock will learn from your happiness of being skept across the water.
Fragments of these bonds reside in favorite items often handled by the user.
The house is not haunted, the House IS the haunting.
Treat the object or locations as you would treat a person.
You don't need an exorcist, you don't need Cleaning or a priest. Spirits have no religion. It's Nature.
All you need to do is treat them with respect and love. Your soul will rub off on it. And it will take a liking to you, thus returning the favor and caring for you.
You cannot lose your soul, it is an infinite stream of energy dusting off of you, and affecting everything around you. This is what's commonly known as aura or Chi/Ki.
Evil people have favorite things too, but the spirit that rubs off from them is not inherently evil, it just needs guiding.
This is why spirits have no free will. They are slaves to us and can be manipulated through karma.
