It’s been a while…/u/hmsomethingisntright

Hello, I made a post here almost a year back. A lot has happened, so I figured I'd give a little update.

Creepy things are still happening.

Last summer, we'd been having crazy things happening in the woods around us, and in our own house. Except... Things got a little more real. Our neighbor (probably half a mile down the road) happened to tell us about a weird person who would watch our house. It was offhand, as we were giving away a couple of old shit from our shed, but it was enough to unnerve us.

We happened to notice our trees were getting mauled at about 5 & a half feet up. Holes punched in them from a stake from a horse shoe game we had in our lawn. Of course, we took them and anything even remotely sharp or heavy inside.

Then a couple weeks later... When my younger siblings were walking down our drive, the oldest saw something that just about made her cry. Somebody had killed a bird, taken out its spine and mutilated it with a plastic butter knife we assume it dug out of our trash. Pictures will be attached in the comments... But be careful, seriously it's horrible, especially if you're an animal lover like my family are. This was probably the scariest thing to happen to me ever, and I've been scratched by something I couldn't see.

My father recently had a workplace issue, so he's staying at home with me, and he's been slowly noticing more and more weird things as well. Something wailing in the wood early in the morning and late at night, sometimes when it's plain daylight out. Sometimes it sounds like a cat, other times it sounds like a kid. We hear things coming from the woods all the time. The reason we KNOW it's not actually a cat or a kid? The same noise will jump from each direction clear as day. It tries to get us to go deeper in.

The first time it happened when my other married sibling happened to be over, she really thought it was a hurt cat and roped my sister into going in the woods to look. Like I just said, it started jumping places and they got freaked out. It was probably 45 minutes of them going further in the forest looking for this yowling cat, until they started back to our house.

What the fuck is this? It's not so much IN the house more, as it is around it. I don't get it. Is it really a person like our neighbor said, or does it take a human form? We really don't know, and our entire family experiences these things. My mother and father are full believers in the forest now, and we've installed several lights around our house, and we are preparing to install cameras. Nobody goes outside alone, always in pairs. It's always been a rule to not be outside past sundown, but now it's more like, don't be outside period, unless you've got multiple people with you.

It might be crazy, but I've looked into our area more to see if anything weird happened on this land. Turns out we live on the trail of tears. Like, directly on the path of the trail. Blue signposts I never noticed till now and all. Besides that, nothing. No weird shit happened on this land as far as me or my mother knows, and this land has been in the family forever.

I'm scared we might never know what the fuck is happening in this house. Thanks for reading if you did.
