Wholesome encounter/u/undead_neko92

I'm in trauma thearpy atm (going well). I was finding it hard to express my emotions as I've always been told, "you got to stay strong" and "don't cry". Even when I found my uncle dead at 10, when I watched my mum die at 19, and just last year we lost my stepmother and dad.

My therapist asked me to hold out both my hands, my left hand was the belief that being strong is hiding my emotions and being stoic, my right hand was you can show emotion and still be strong etc.

I closed my eyes and wanted to lift my left hand, as that's what I've grown up knowing... but I couldn't, someone was holding my right hand. I don't know who it was, but I broke down crying.

I must have looked insane lol.
