So this might be interesting to some of you, this is mostly something to do with the old house that I used to live in, the old house I was in before is just 5 minutes down the road from where I live now. The house was built maybe somewhere in the 70’s by my great grandparents, it was a four-room house and then 2 or 3 rooms were added on later.
Keep in mind, I grew up in this house until I was maybe around 14-15 years old. My great grandparents were very religious which my great grandpa was also a preacher back then, and had his own little church house close by to this house.
Growing up every since I was a toddler in this house, I literally experienced sleep paralysis episodes almost every night in this house and every since I moved out from there, I stopped having more of those episodes, but I rarely sometimes have them inside the house I’m in now but isn’t bad like it was before and now used to it, (I’m 25 now) and over the years I always thought how strange that was and always wondered if there was actual something paranormal there, my relatives really never believed in paranormal stuff but they always said that the house seems jokingly haunted but most of them, including me has never experienced anything paranormal in the house except for my mother, sister, and my cousin.
A year before I was born, I can’t remember exactly if my sister could walk yet (Not even a year old at the time) but the house always sounded quiet and always creaking as usual but my mother said while she was cooking supper/dinner, she heard someone walking like they was speed walking inside the same room my sister was in, my mother walked in there and my sister was dead asleep. Whenever someone would walk in this house, you could literally feel the other person walking from another room because the foundation of the house and the way it was built was kind of warped and wonky at the time but that’s what she heard and felt from the vibrations of the house.
Another paranormal encounter that my sister and cousin experienced was whenever they was about maybe 14-16, a little bit after we moved out. They both went into the house while visiting my grandparents (Their house was also close by) just to explore and being nosy looking at all of the unnecessary stuff that we left behind, there was a lot of stuff and junk left there. As they was leaving, they both visually and heard the bathroom door shut very hard, it shut so hard that the whole house shook and both of them screamed and ran out, this is the same part of the house whenever my mom experienced her encounter with something. The room was kind of a mix between a hallway and a bedroom and you can see the bathroom door from the living room looking through the bedroom/hallway. We also think this is probably the oldest room in the house.
I noticed growing up, I always had an eerie feeling and felt like someone was watching me every time I walked through that room to get to my bedroom, the room also has a staircase going down to the basement which always felt unsettling every time I had to walk by it, or it’s just me being a kid at the time thinking it’s scary (Usually every kid thinks a basement is scary as hell).
I know this post is supposed to be about my sleep paralysis but I’m about to unleash all of that. I think I can still remember my very first sleep paralysis episode and it was very vivid-like and felt real, I was a toddler at the time. I can’t remember exactly how it started but I remember waking up in my parent’s bed sleeping between them breaking into a cold sweat and burning up, and felt the need to sneakingly get out from the bed without waking them up. After getting out of the bed, I laid on the floor in front of that same bathroom door I mentioned before so that I could just cool off from the increased body heat, as I was laying there, looking towards my dark ass room without a door, I felt this very intense feeling that something was watching me and that feeling kept building up the more I thought about it, then I saw eyes from my room, I can’t remember if they was red or yellow but whenever I saw the eyes, that was it for me, I couldn’t scream or move, whatever the hell it was, it ran out of my room towards me like a bat out of hell, literally ran like the superhero “Flash”. As soon as it attacked me, I couldn’t feel or move my body, my whole body went numb and my vision went into like a dark white noise TV effect and then I woke up crying.
Every since I’ve started having those episodes, I couldn’t sleep on my back or rarely on my side without triggering an episode. The figure in my sleep paralysis episode is something I’ve always seen every time I had an episode, I’ve done a little research on it on google over a few years, it was a small size figure, almost leprechaun size but what I found on google is basically exactly almost the same thing, but it’s from like “german folklore” or something, and it’s called a “mare demon”.
Like I said before, every since I moved into the house I’m in now, I rarely have them but I no longer see that “mare demon” or whatever it was. Now I only see nothing but I just feel that same feeling but it’s not intense anymore like it used to be and I can easily get out of it like nothing.
I’m not experienced with this kind of stuff but let me know what you all think about this because it has me intrigued knowing whether if this old house is actually haunted or not lol.
