Suddenly doppelgängers everywhere… why?/u/magical_bunny

I keep on seeing doppelgängers.

At first, this was exremely odd, but now it keeps happening.

So I used to work with a couple, I'll call them Jade and Ken.

Jade and Ken both moved to work in another department many hours away.

So one day I am in a waiting room and there is a woman sitting there. It's Jade but it's not Jade. She looks exactly like her, with one exception - she has a tattoo on her arm and Jade had no tattoos.

Everything about her is Jade down to her hair, her expressions, her freckles, her clothing style (Jade had a very particular style). Even her voice was exactly like Jade's. She even gave me a glance as if she knew me, but looked away when I tried to catch her eye.

This in itself blew my mind - this wasn't just a similar looking person, this was a replica that made me think Jade may have had an identical twin who'd been adopted out.

That theory was blown away when in walks a guy who looks almost exactly like Ken. Now, with him I could tell he wasn't Ken, he looked like he was 85% Ken if that makes sense, whereas with the Jade lookalike it was the tattoo that tipped me off that it wasn't her.

I contacted Jade to ask if she'd been around, she said no (she was still living many hours away) and had a laugh about the idea that there could be a replica Jade and Ken out there. And no they weren’t lying - their social feed showed they’d be far away.

But it didn't stop there.

Next I saw a guy who was the spitting image of a guy I buy my coffee from. It's a special type of coffee and he's a really sweet and thoughtful guy who loves to chat when we see each other. I saw the guy who I believed was the coffee guy, he looked exactly like him.

When I saw him I said "hey Adam!" but he completely ignored me, almost as if he wasn't there, almost as if he wasn't part of the surrounds.

This happened once again recently with yet another guy I know, it wasn't him despite looking exactly the same.

Where this gets weird all over again is there is a guy that me and my friend Brad (who has since moved back overseas to his home country) used to call "MC man". It was an in-joke as he used to serve us at McDonald's when we'd go in and for some funny reason my friend took a liking to him and so affectionately gave him this nickname.

Now, I ended up eventually following MC Man on Instagram when he came up as a suggestion, not to be stalkerish but because it was interesting just following him given we knew him at the shop. He eventually moved away from town.

A few months ago, I matched with a guy on Tinder, the spitting image of MC Man. I even showed my friend Brad his photo, and Brad said that's MC Man. Well I started chatting to this guy and he's never even been to my town, never worked for McDonald's. I now can't find MC Man's instagram account. Sure, they may look alike and maybe MC Man got rid of his account or renamed it or something, but in context, it just seems really weird.

Now, this is where it gets weird all over again. Remember Brad from the last story?

Yesterday I saw him as I was driving my car, on the side of the road. He is overseas, but this looked exactly like him, even his legs, same glasses, same blue T-shirt he used to love to wear. Right down to his stance and facial expression.

By the time I drove back to look again, no one was there.

Another funny thing that just happened yesterday was a historical photo popped up on Instagram of a guy who is 100% the spitting image of my older brother.

It's weird I am seeing doppelgangers now after having seen one and only one several years ago. At that time, it was myself I saw in a crowded shop. Later that evening I was lucky to avoid a serious multi-car crash on a highway by just being a car or two behind it.

All these people popping up who look exactly like people I know have only started happening in the past two months.

I really have no idea what's up with that.
