This morning I had a vivid nightmare in which my relatives phoned me at work to tell me my mother had died. Bizarrely, this sequence was followed by another one in which my mother phoned me from hospital to tell me that she was very ill. The dream was so intense it woke me up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep.
Now my brother has phoned me to tell me my mother just tested positive for COVID. She is an elderly woman in her 70s with underlying conditions, and she's been vaccinated and got all the boosters available. Even though I've never had premonitory dreams before I'm terrified this might have been one and that my mother is going to die.
