Ghost hunting can be sketchy, given that some of the most promising locations often have restricted public access due to  safety concerns, the location being private property or having historical relevance. Keeping everyone and everything safe and whole can be challenging, particularly if a ghost hunting group believes the rules are for other people. For those of you who seek a paranormal experience rather than proof of the existence of spooks, here is Atlas Obscura's List of Haunted Restaurants. It includes a Halifax location where embalmings of Titanic victims took place  and another is housed in an abandoned prison.
