My dog died about 4 years ago to cancer at the age if 12. He was a feisty little joker. As a disclaimer I can’t say for certain what’s real and what isn’t because this always happens as I’m waking up.

I’ll be sleeping and ill wake up to the distinct sound of his nails trotting down the wooden hallways floor, it was a very distinct sound and we could always hear him coming. I’d feel him jump onto my bed, and settle into his usual spot which is in the crook of my knees when I’m sleeping on my side.

I can feel the weight in the bed and the warmth on my body. It feels so real an genuine, but it only lasts maybe 10 seconds and then I’m awake. I’m mildly suspicious of the validity of this experience because I could brush it off as a waking dream, but its also possible that’s just the type of state we are reachable by spirits. Its seems common for people to be visited in dreams.

Last week I woke to the nails on wood pitter patter but I didn’t feel him jump on the bed or laying down, this was the first time my partner was in my bed when this happened so maybe he was scared or something and backed off.

Logically, from our current understanding of the universe it doesn’t seem possible a non physical entity could possibly press down onto a mattress and make me feel warmth, but it does feel real when it happens.

I’m generally scared of anything paranormal but I’ve always been fully calm and content when these experiences happened. You can really feel the love.

RIP Dash you barked a lot but you were a funny little guy.
