So it was my sister’s birthday, she was turning 15 or 16 and I was 13 or 14. My dad decided a good activity would be to take a bunch of my sister’s friends to visit a bunch of the haunted places around Colorado that weren’t too too far from us. I’m not sure if any of you have ever heard of third bridge or not but that was one of the stops.

As the evening went on we didn’t experience anything too spooky other than some eerie feelings at some places, up until we got to the last stop. I forget where we were or what it was called but if this post picks up any steam I can figure it out.

But we were a little ways into the mountains, driving down a road that had been lined with trees for a while once we finally got to our stop. The spot was supposed to be a random stop in the woods but we were very close to a bar/tavern type establishment. We went inside and I remember there being some sort of wedding reception going on. We asked if they had ever heard of a the “ghost spot” near there and one person working said they have heard of it and that it was right in the woods behind the place.

At this point it was pretty late and completely dark but we decided to go back into the woods just a bit. We found a clearing and we all sat down and tried to talk to the ghosts like we have seen on tv. Nothing was really happening and as the youngest there I sheepishly asked if I could give it a try. I remember introducing myself and saying, “if there are any spirits here could you give us a sign by moving something, maybe a rock” and a few seconds went by and we heard a small rock roll down the hill somewhere beside us. I wasn’t content with that as a definite sign so I said “could you possibly do that again? Or move a bigger rock?” And then almost immediately several large rocks started falling from behind us almost as if there were being thrown. This happened for 10-30 seconds, it’s hard to tell the actual duration of time when your adrenaline suddenly gets so high. But I remember my dad pulling me behind him so I didn’t get hurt because these rocks were pretty large.

But, the rocks stopped falling and two of the older boys went up the hill with their flip phones open as flashlights to try and find who was throwing the rocks. They came back down saying that there was no one up there but there was a house way in the distance, too far for anyone to have ran back to without us noticing.

So we went back down to the car quietly talking about what just happened, but slowly stopped because I don’t think any of us wanted to be the ones to admit that it was definitely a paranormal experience. I remember talking to my sister and my dad about it a few times but whenever it’s brought up, everyone would rather not talk about it.

I wonder if since I was younger it was less traumatic, or if there was somehow something I missed but no one on that trip ever doubts it was paranormal.

My dad was filming with the night vision setting on his camera the whole time but I don’t think we have ever rewatched the footage, and I have no idea where that camera would be now.

TL;DR we went to try and talk to ghosts and the ghosts started throwing rocks at us.
