On Halloween in 2020, my mom and I decided to go to the site of an abandoned jail to do some urban exploring. Once we got there, we walked around for a bit before my mom got a phone call from her friend. Mid-conversation, her cell phone went dead and would not turn back on (even though the battery percentage was nowhere close to being empty). Our dog was also with us and he seemed more on edge than usual, just staring into the distance and just not being his usual self. When we got back the car, my mom noticed her necklace that she was wearing while we were exploring was gone. And to this day, she has never found it. I personally think that this was a paranormal experience, but I wanted to hear what other people think as well. I’d say this is one of the most perplexing things that has ever happened to me. I know that when the jail was open, it was known for not being a great place. It housed a lot of violent and sexual offenders and a lot of prisoners died there at the hands of guards or other prisoners. So I was wondering if the site and its history and also the fact that it was Halloween played a role into why this experience happened. Any thoughts?
