I’m at Safeway, and I’m walking behind this middle-aged couple in the bread aisle. The bread is actually on the left, about 8 or so shelves of it. It’s against a wall and on the right are locked liquor cabinets. We are about 3-4 feet from the shelf, walking down the middle aisle. Suddenly, this loaf of bread comes shooting off the middle shelf straight across the couple in front of me, at about chest level. It traveled almost to the liquor side of the aisle. It flew out with such force, it was shocking. We all froze, and they looked back at me and I looked at them…we all said “what was that???” Then they picked up the bread, returned it to the shelf and walked off. I stayed behind and examined the shelf. Nothing but a solid wall at the end of the store. Impossible for anyone to be behind or on the other side. No strings or any mechanisms of any kind. I wish they would’ve stayed to discuss it further. I wonder if something from the other side was trying to get their attention. So bizarre.
