Last year, I made a post asking you all what extinct species you thought could still be alive somewhere. In that post, there was significant discussion about the eastern cougar. It seems that on the topic of supposedly extinct animals that could still exist, the eastern cougar gets a lot of attention. I don’t think I’ve spoken to anyone in the rural Northeast United States who doesn’t have some story of either encountering one themselves or knowing someone who did. I said in the comments of that original post I was gonna eventually do a separate eastern cougar thread. So, people of the rural American East, tell me your personal anecdotes of the Eastern Cougar!
