We have this really shitty oven that’s done things on its own accord, without us pressing buttons. At first I thought it was the good old fashioned “quality craftsmanship” that comes from appliances these days, but my ma was telling me a story the other day of how it started flashing random numbers and error codes despite being left alone.
Eventually the numbers “666” started flashing on the screen — and I’m sure everyone here knows ovens don’t get that hot. Being a Christian household ma started rebuking it in Jesus’ name. I know, it’s weird – arguing with an oven… But it worked.
Haven’t heard it acting up lately. At first I thought it was the occasional bug crawling through the back of the appliance and somehow tripping off things, but the appliance had even been known to beep despite the circuit breaker being off for the oven. We had to start turning it off when it wasn’t in use because it got that bad
