When I was a teen, 14-16 I had something following me wherever I went. It all started on Autumn night. I was a bottle/cooler boy at a small local convenience store. I would walk to work, which ran from 7-9 at night. The quickest path was to cut through an old man’s yard, he did not mind, and then through a field that no one used. There was a small patch of woods at the edge of his property, and by small I mean 3 to 4 trees wide. This one night was cold and there was a large puddle that had frozen next to where I crossed through the woods. As I was midway past this puddle, and mind you it was dark by then, I heard the crunching of footsteps and cracking of ice. I froze and turned towards the sound but say nothing. The hair on the back of my neck stood at attention and I felt a chill crawl over my entire body. Fight or flight kicked in and I ran the rest of the way to the store. For the next 2ish years, I always felt like I was being watched. I ended up taking the long way to work, walking an extra mile. The weirdest part was I went to France in high school in an exchange trip. I was there a month. After about a week there, we had gone hiking and I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and that same feeling took me over. The rest of the trip I again felt like I was being watched. The same thing happened when we returned. It took about a week for the thing to find me again. Once I started to drive, it kind of vanished, though from time to time I can feel my skin crawl and I get the feeling of being watched. Anyone else ever experience this or have any ideas as to what it might have been?
